Jody & Mitch

Jody and Mitch had always dreamed of building their perfect home—one tailored to their lifestyle, tastes, and future needs. With Jody’s background in construction and design, she envisioned a space that was both functional and beautiful, incorporating thoughtful details to accommodate not only themselves but also a comfortable living area for a parent and plenty of outdoor space for their dogs.

Their journey, however, didn’t start as smoothly as they had hoped. After purchasing a picturesque 0.38-acre lot, they entrusted the project to a contractor who, unfortunately, abandoned them midway through excavation and foundation work. Left in a difficult
position, they searched for a builder who could not only pick up where things had stalled but also restore their confidence in the process. That’s when they found Shannon Staley and Sons.

From the beginning, we knew this wasn’t just about finishing a project, it was about
rebuilding trust and bringing Jody and Mitch’s dream home to life. We worked closely with them to refine their vision, ensuring every detail aligned with their original plan while overcoming the setbacks of their previous experience.

The result? A stunning, custom-designed home featuring:

  • An expansive asphalt driveway with a turnaround, providing easy access and extra parking.
  • A spacious two-car garage for convenience and storage.
  • Durable Hardie plank siding, offering both style and longevity.
  • A beautifully crafted custom kitchen with cabinetry by Sim-Lohman, quartz countertops, and premium LG appliances, making it a true centerpiece of the home.
  • A luxurious primary suite with beautiful tile selections
  • Two additional guest bathrooms, ensuring comfort for family and visitors.
  • A connected great room and dining space, seamlessly open to the
kitchen—perfect for gatherings and everyday living.
  • Four bedrooms, including a master retreat, designed with comfort and functionality
    in mind.
  • Ample storage space, allowing for organized and clutter-free living.

Through careful planning and execution, we not only delivered the home they had envisioned but also provided them with the peace of mind they deserved. Today, Jody and Mitch’s dream home stands as a testament to resilience, craftsmanship, and the power of finding the right team to bring a vision to life.

At Shannon Staley and Sons, we don’t just build houses, we build trust, relationships, and the spaces where life’s best moments happen.

Challenges

Every construction project presents its own set of challenges, and this home was no exception. One of the most significant hurdles came at the very beginning—taking over the project from a previous contractor. This meant not only picking up where someone else left off but also correcting issues with the existing
foundation walls to ensure the home had a solid and reliable base.

Another major challenge was the property’s steep and difficult driveway grade. Before asphalt could be installed, maneuvering equipment and material deliveries up the slope proved to be a constant logistical obstacle. Despite this, our team remained committed to safe and effective site access throughout the build.

In addition to these major hurdles, we navigated the typical unknowns that come with any new home construction project—from unexpected site conditions to material delays—always
adapting and problem-solving to maintain quality and progress.

Through it all, we remained solution-oriented and committed to delivering a home that exceeded expectations. The final result is a testament to our team and the owner’s perseverance, professionalism, and dedication to turning challenges into achievements.
